I. General Information

1. Time and application documents

• From March 15 to April 11, 2021: Open registration for talent recruitment on the system http://ts.hust.edu.vn

• Before May 16, 2021: Announcement of the results of pre-qualification to participate in the Mindfulness test.

• From June 14 to June 20, 2021: Announcement of talent selection results (for all 3 methods).
• June 2021: Organize the Mind Test.

4. Admission method

4.1. Selection methods

a Talent recruitment (expected 10-20% of the total target, in which the number of direct recruitment of each industry does not exceed 30% of the target of that industry)

– Direct selection according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training: candidates participate in the National Team Selection Competition for the International Olympic Games; candidates won prizes in national HSG exams (first, second, third) in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Foreign Languages, Science and Technology.

– Direct admission is based on the results of the ACT, SAT, A-Level and IELTS test for candidates with an average average score of each year in grades 10, 11, 12 reaching 8.0 or higher, specifically as follows: after:

• Direct admission to all majors / training programs for candidates with ACT, SAT, A-level certificates meeting the threshold specified by the University. For A-level certificates, the subjects must be relevant to the field of application.
• Direct admission to English Language and Management Economics majors/programs for candidates with IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 or higher (or equivalent).

– Consider the competency profile combined with the interview for candidates with the average grade point average of each year in grades 10, 11, 12 reaching 8.0 or higher and meeting one of the following conditions:

• Candidates belong to the specialized system (including specializing in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, English) of specialized high schools nationwide.
• Candidates are selected to participate in the National Excellent Student Competition or win the First, Second, and Third Prizes at the provincial/city levels in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, and English at high school level; candidates selected to participate in the national science and technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training; contestants participating in the monthly/quarterly/yearly round of the Vietnam Television’s Road to Olympia competition.
• Candidates with an international English language certificate IELTS (Academic) 6.0 or higher or equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to the majors of English Language and Management Economics.
• Candidates do not use the right to direct recruitment according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

b Admission is based on the results of the High School Graduation Exam (estimated 50-60% of the total target)

Conditions: candidates have an average score of 6 semesters of each subject at the high school level in the combination of subjects with a score of 7.0 or higher.

– Score for each discipline/training program is determined according to the total score of 03 exam subjects of one of the combinations: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D07, D26, D28 and D29 (subject coefficients are taken into account). in a number of majors and priority plus points as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training). – Candidates take the Compound exam in 180 minutes, consisting of 2 parts:

+ Compulsory part, including Math (multiple choice, essay) and Reading comprehension (multiple choice), estimated duration is 120 minutes.

+ Optional part (multiple choice), estimated duration of 60 minutes, choose 1 of 3 parts:

• Elective 1: Physics – Chemistry for candidates applying for admission to all majors except English Language major.
• Optional 2: Chemistry – Biology for candidates applying for admission in the group of Chemistry – Food – Biology – Environment.
• Elective 3: English for candidates applying for admission to the majors of English Language, Management Economics.

– The content of the thinking test is in the general program with requirements at different levels of knowledge, from understanding to applying and applying creatively.

• The Math section will include both objective and essay questions.
