Jessica Simpson is an American singer, actress, businesswoman and fashion designer. She is best known for her album Sweet Kisses (1999), which sold 2 million copies in the United States and saw the commercial success of the single “I Wanna Love You Forever” (1999). She performed in the church choir as a child. At the age of 17, she signed with Columbia Records.

She released a more mature second studio album, Irresistible (2001), whose title track became her second top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album as gold. She released her third studio album, In This Skin (2003), which sold 3 million copies in the United States.
