Isis King is a popular American model, actress and fashion designer. She is best known for her roles in the reality television show America’s Next Top Model (TV series, 2003), episodes 11 and 17. She was the first trans woman to appear on the show and became one of the most visible trans people on television.

King Isis was named male at birth. However, she showed this both mentally and otherwise; she was born female. She said people might call her “transgender” or “transgender,” but she chose the term “born in the wrong body.” In high school, Kim came out as “gay,” but later felt that wasn’t a specific label for her.

She earned an associate’s degree in design and illustration from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. But then she moved to New York and began her transition from male to female. But she didn’t make enough money to pay her rent, and her family rejected her transition. So she moved into the Ali Forney Center for Homeless LGBTQ Youth in New York City.

In 2007, Isis King appeared in a special titled Born in the Wrong Body (TV Series, 2015). The miniseries chronicles the lives of transgender teens across the United States. As part of her transition, she began hormone replacement therapy in the summer of 2007. In 2009, she told America’s Next Top Model: All-Stars (2011) that she called it sex reassignment surgery.
