Robin Lee is an American actress and author. In 1997, she made her acting debut as Leigh Darling in the independent film Hav Plenty. She later appeared in a number of films, including “Security” (2003), “Saving Us from Eva” (2003), “Hitch” (2005), “Seven Pounds” (2008), “Five” “Ten Shades Darker” (2017) and “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2018).

Robinne Lee was born in Jamaica to parents of Chinese, British and African descent. Her father’s surname is Li. She is a graduate of Yale University and Columbia Law School. After completing her studies, she began her acting career as a cast member of the 1997 film Hav Plenty. The film was screened at the Toronto Film Festival.

She spent the next few years working on smaller films. On television, Lee also guest-starred on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2002) and Numb3rs (2005). She also appeared in the music video for R&B singer Usher’s 2004 song Confessions Part II.

Robin Lee starred in two films, the action comedy National Security (2003) and the romantic comedy Save Us from Eva (2003). In 2005, she played Cressida in the box-office hit Hitch, starring Will Smith. In 2008, she co-starred with Smith again in the drama film Seven Pounds, playing Smith’s character’s fiancée Sarah.

In 2008, she played Viv as the female lead in the comedy This Is Not a Test. In 2009, Lee co-starred as Carol in the comedy film Hotel Dogs with Don Cheadle. In 2007, Lee had a recurring role as Nicole in the sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.

From 2013 to 2014, she played Avery Daniels in the first season of the critically acclaimed television series Being Mary Jane. From 2017 to 2018, she played Bea Hastings in the Syfy horror drama Superstition.

St. Martin’s Press published Lee’s debut novel “The Idea Of You” on June 13, 2017. She was released as an audiobook by Tantor Media on April 3, 2018.
